The Grandparents

Sarah Majors — Bill's grandmother on his father's side — was, in his words, a woman who showed grace and love in all she said and in how she behaved. She was so meaningful in his growing-up years that when his first daughter was born, he named her Sarah.

Jetty and Clarence Maxwell were his mother's parents — geographically closer, practically present, there when and as needed.

Two sets of grandparents who showed a boy what steady, faithful love looks like, even when other things were unsteady.
